ONE FOOT AFTER THE OTHER       Issued 17/09/2020

BIA Otago is so proud to support Amy Telfer Chiles as she challenges herself by walking the Central Otago Rail Trail this November.Amy will walk 152km over 12 days which sounds tough. It is even more so for Amy who lives with a brain injury she sustained in a car crash 25 years ago. Amy will be battling fatigue and balance issues during her 12-day walk both long term effects from brain injury.Amy is generously donating all funds she raises from her walk to Brain Injury Association Otago. BIA Otago is an organisation that provides advocacy, support and education for people and their families affected by brain injury.

ONLINE SUPPORT FORUM              Issued 14-9-2018

Online Support Forum – We want to make it easy for the families and caregivers of those with Brain Injury to have a place to share and ask questions and interact with others who may be able to share some helpful advice or just a safe place to vent – so we have created an online forum for families/whanau, friends and caregivers of those with Brain Injury. This is a closed group for those described above and also two of our staff from the Hawke’s Bay Region. Dairne and Debbie from the Hawke’s Bay BIA will be in the group to share any info and answer your questions, so please join us
